This qualification recognises the skills of experienced painters and decorators who work across residential and commercial projects. Through RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning), qualified tradespeople can have their existing knowledge and practical experience formally acknowledged without the need for classroom study.

The Certificate III in Painting and Decorating covers surface preparation, application of paints and decorative finishes, wallpapering, colour matching, using painting tools and equipment, and working safely on job sites. It reflects the competencies required to carry out painting tasks to industry standards while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and WHS practices.
